The Voimala 1889 sauna in Oulu provides both individuals as well as groups with amazing and historic facilities to organize treatment and pampering events for refreshing, company recreation and bachelorette as well as bachelor parties. In addition to private events Luonnokas organizes with its partners public sauna events, such as the Beautiful Day’s Morning and different wellness events and courses. Public events and sauna treatments are best found on our Facebook page. You’re also welcome to request premises for your own events and courses. The sauna premises are also suited for your own group’s casual gatherings and meetings, visit our sites for rates.
Voimala’s sauna is part of the Restaurant Block, which includes Tuba Food & Lounge, Ravintola Rauhala and Voimala 1889.

The sound bath in a sauna takes place in the city centre of Oulu, in Voimala 1889.
The experience of a sound bath in a sauna is offered in cooperation with Luonnokas Oy and Merja Turunen (JeebyMerja).
Price: 49€ / per person, minimum invoicing five persons

Park Yoga and Gentle Steams Program for your company recreation day, bachelorette party or just for fun on a day spent with friends
Park yoga in Ainola park led by JeeByMerja’s Merja Turunen.
Your options are the Hard yoga or the Gentle yoga.
After the yoga Merja will lead the group back to the sauna, where we’ll first take a breather and then sauna bathe in the gentle steams. Face masks for different skin types or a foot bath can be chosen as the preferred sauna treatment.
The program will be carried out in Ainola park and the Voimala 1889 sauna premises.

Luonnokkaaksi sauna The Luonnokas gentle steams and legacy of Finnish folk healing

The name Luonnokas stems from the Finnish folk tradition and Kalevala, where the luonnokas were known as individuals with a strong will or as the celestial beings of the Kalevala folk poetry.
In the Luonnokas sauna one may become luonnokas, of Nature, by the steams of the sauna. As the sauna is heated it will be told simultaneously the intentions of the day’s sauna bathing. The steams acquired by throwing water on the hot stones will then be harnessed for the purpose of letting go of the old and creating new.
The body will also be cleansed with a soothing pine tar and honey creme. Combined with the nurturing properties of tar one is to become of Nature through cleansing and renewal in the sauna.

PLEASE NOTE! The treatment creme includes meadowsweet, a plant including salicylate, and therefore is not suitable for persons with salicylate allergies.
The Mellis NaTrue certified Ikikelpo Sauna creme – Pine Tar & Honey is used in the treatments. The Pine Tar & Honey Sauna Creme cleanses, renews and balances the skin. The birch tar and the meadowsweet chosen as its power companion help soothe itching, skin irritations as well as muscle and joint pains. Meadowsweet enhances metabolism by increasing perspiration. Together with honey, tar and meadowsweet enhance the recovery of muscles after strain. The Pine Tar & Honey Sauna Creme is also suitable for treating the scalp. Pine tar brings its own unique tenderness and mystique as well as smokey atmosphere – try it and be surprised! All the Mellis products are certified by NaTrue.
Peat Sauna Cleansing and treatment with peat
Joyful bubbling always echoes from the peat sauna and even singing has been heard from the sauna benches. The peat sauna refreshes the mind, relaxes and relieves stress. Peat cleanses, nurtures the skin and increases metabolism as well as blood circulation.
Peat has been used in traditional Finnish folk healing for skin problems, rheumatic pains and aches, among other things. Peat has also been found to help soothe menopause symptoms.
The process of the treatment: After washing the skin the sauna is utilized to warm up, activate metabolism and open up pores. The skin is rinsed and the treatment peat is spread on the body with each sauna companion helping one another. We will then head back to the sauna and let the heat as well as the moistness of the sauna effect. The peat is left on for 30 minutes in the sauna. Plenty of water is ingested during the treatment, because the metabolism will activate rapidly and metabolic waste will exit the body. Finally, the skin is rinsed with water and the hair is washed with natural materials. After the sauna we’ll have cleansing herb tea and plenty of water. A nutritious evening snack is also recommended.
LehtoPeat’s nurturing peat is used in the treatment. LehtoPeat has a long tradition in the lifting and further processing of Finnish peat. The Lehtosuo treatment peat by the company located in Ähtäri has been researched and found excellent by the geological research center and meets the EU standards.

Herb Sauna Sauna treatment with Luonnokas' own natural product line
The herb sauna treats, nurtures and cleanses effectively.
The treatment will be carried out with the Luonnokas’ own natural product line, including nurturing organic oils and raw sea salt in addition to the wild herbs as the active ingredients of the products.
You may choose between the cleansing and soothing nettle based salt scrub or the pampering and nurturing wild rose based salt scrub.

The Sauna of Silence Pausing in this moment and cleansing the body with traditional remedies
The Sauna of Silence offers you a chance to pause within yourself and cleanse the body with traditional remedies. The sauna itself creates soothing and gentle facilities for treatments. The Sauna of Silence consists of a salt sheet compress treatment and a wild herb foot bath, both carried out in silence.
The salt sheet treatment supports the body’s own vital functions and releases metabolic waste, acids and toxins through the skin. The wild herb foot bath increases metabolism, nurtures and softens the skin. The treatment is carried out in silence, which increases being present and pausing in this moment. Wild herb tea will be enjoyed after the silence, while you have an opportunity to share your feelings and experiences on the silent treatment.

Finally, the skin is rinsed with water, the hair is washed with natural materials and patted dry with a towel. The more salt is left on the body, the better. Men's Sauna In the Men's Sauna the aches of the body is soothed with a tar and honey creme while blood circulation is increased with vodka socks
In the Men’s Sauna the aches of the body is soothed with the Mellis Honey & Pine Tar creme and blood circulation is increased with traditional vodka socks. Well suited for bachelor parties and men’s get-together.
The pine tar treatment combines both Finnish folk healing and tar, which is essential to Oulu’s history as well as the gentle steams either in the Voimala 1889 sauna or in the sauna yurt.
